Special Projects

Progress Group's Special Projects & Solutions Division handles the design and installation of one-off diesel generator projects to meet clients’ specifications that deviate from our standard large generator stockholding.

Noise ControlNoise Control

We are able to offer sound attenuation to meet specific noise criteria for any of our generators. Sound reduction may be in the form of individual plant room attenuators and exhaust silencers or as a canopy or container for external units.

Utilisation of Available Space

With space at a premium on many sites, we are often able to provide solutions to install sets with minimal access or to design projects for use in areas with restricted space availability.

Multi-Set SynchronisationMulti-Set Synchronisation

We can design and build engine governing and control systems for use where more than one generator is in use including load monitoring, synchronisation and auto start/stop to suit demand.

Parallel Running with Mains (G59)

Where base load or 'soft return' operation is required we can provide all the necessary control equipment to ensure the safe and reliable synchronisation of a generator to the site mains electricity supply meeting the requirements of the regional electricity company (REC).

Fuel Transfer Systems

In those locations where sets are running for extended periods, we can offer fully automatic fuel management systems allowing the safe transfer of fuel from bulk tanks to day tanks.

Fuel Storage

All fuel tanks for supply into the UK are compliant with current UK legislation, being of steel construction and bunded and/ or double skinned as appropriate

Advanced Control SystemsAdvanced Control Systems Including BMS Interfacing

We are able to design and build bespoke panels with as little or as much sophistication as required, from a basic remote indication panel to a fully automated synchronising switch board.

Advanced control panels are built to order and we can thus offer full integration with existing customer BMS facilities and provide modem links for remote alarm indication and control system integration.

CAD Drawings

Design work is carried out using our CAD facilities. Full documentation, drawings and instructions are provided with every project.
